NORTAN TOURS AND SAFARIS is a travel Company that provides tours for both individual and group tourists in Tanzania especially in the Southern circuit but also in the Northern circuit, Western circuit, Eastern and Costal Regions. The Company Office is located in Morogoro Municipality at Tushikamane Center along Kilakala road, opposite to Procula Offices. It aims to develop and to popularize the unknown tourism destinations in the Southern Circuit of Tanzania, “We shine the light to the darkness”. ATTRACTION SITES

MOROGORO ATTRACTION SITES

1. MOUNT ULUGURU
Mount Uluguru is one of mountains in eastern arc zone with height of about 2650ams. It has three peaks, Lupanga, Bondwa and other. "People used to say while other mountains do it by height, Mt. Uluguru do it by length. "

The mountain is rich in many attractions such as;

Fauna and flora, natural forest with beautifully flowers, cover trees, herbs accompanied by primates like velvet monkeys. Luguru culture, their lives and culture.

Luguru cultivation and Kireka Village, the old Germany fruits/vegetable plantation, the reason why still up to now, people of the mountains maintains the fruits and vegetable cultivation.

Waterfalls and small lakes ( a cold bath) like Kibwe and Bunduki waterfalls, Rock Garden, Picnic site under the natural rain forest along the Morogoro river flow; beautiful place!

2. HISTORIC SITES

Kingalu museum (19TH kingalu chief), Luguru Chief tomb, World war monuments, Tanzanians heroes monuments, ANC freedom collage, 1st church of hollygost fathers (19th C) and Morogoro Teachers College " get to know the fascinating history of the college"

Matombo villages. The word Matombo means breast, here you can see a natural sculpture of a woman and from this sculpture comes the word “Matombo” which means woman breast in Kiluguru. graves of arab commender and slave caves.

An old and the first German Church in the then Coastal Province in Tanganyika German, Colonial hanging tree (used to hang Africans who were against German orders), Visit Sultan area "get to know the story behind it" Visit Boma Road Mango Trees "get to know the story behind them"

Visit old German Railway Station, Visit what was then the old music centre where prominent musicians like Salum Abdallah, Juma Kilaza, Mbaraka Mwinshehe used to perform, now changed to a Ward Government office.

Visit the old Morogoro Gymkhan Club (now Bwalo la Umwema) get the history of the oldest CLUB in Morogoro

3. SLAVE AND IVORY TRADE ROUTES

There are two slave trade route which passes Morogoro
(1) via Gairo
(2) via Morogoro town

4. WILDLIFE

This includes travel to different wildlife habitat like national parks and game reserve. We organizes safari to different attraction sites in Tanzania:

SOUTHERN CIRCUIT

RUHAA NATIONAL PARK

Size; 10,300 km2 when adjacent game reserve are included, Ruaha is the first-largest NP in Tanzania.

Main atrtractions: Hippos, crocodiles, elephant, zebra, both lesser and greater kudu, Cape buffalo, lion, cheetah, and over 500 species of birds.

Climate: moderate from august to October, warmest in November/December and coldest in June / July. Favorable season: to see predators and large mammals, dry season (mid-may to December) is the best. Wet season is the best for bird-watching, lush vegetation and wild-flowers.

MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK:

Size: 3230 km2 forth-larges NP in Tanzania, between Dar es salaamu and Iringa, is contiguous on the south with the selous game reserve. Main attractions: cape buffalo, zebra, leopard, lion, crocodiles, elephants, giraffe. Climate: moderate April - November, hot in January Favorable season: all year

UDIZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK

Size: 19000km2. This park has no road access, only hiking. Main attraction: 5 major mountain-hiking trails lead to rare Iringa red colobus, Sanje crested mangabey, 8 primates species and the endemic forest partridge. Sanje waterfall (2579m) is spectacular one-day climb.

Climate: moderate all year Favorable season; all year

SELOUS GAME RESERVE:

Size: 55,000km2 huge and nearly road-less, it contains some of Africa’s finest virgin bush life

Main attraction: Tanzania’s largest population of elephants, buffalo, hippo and wild dogs. Also commonly seen are lion, greater kudu, zebra impala and baboon. Climate: moderate April-November, hot in January Kimboza Catchment forest; where you can see different types of animals such as Colubus Monkey and different types of birds which, can only be seen in these mountains

NORTHERN CIRCUIT

It is the most famous circuit in Tanzania due presence of world recognized tourist attraction sites, with well developed tourism facilities. We organize safaris to ngorongoro conservation area, Serengeti NP, Manyara NP, Tarangire NP, Arusha NP and hiking Mnt. Meru and other attration site like cultural centers.

COASTOAL AND EASTEN CIRCUIT.

Tanzania has a long coast of about 840kms with beautiful scenery occupied by clean sandy beaches, mangroves forest, marine’s gardens, and wildlife habitat (saadani NP) and boarded with coral reefs and islands. The coast are also good place for deep sea diving. The eastern circuit also has famous museums, historic sites (bagamoyo), zoos, cultural canters, art galleys and high standard accommodation facilities. We organize safari to these entire attraction site depending on your interest.
